Remembering Prof Nimi Briggs, by Dr Ernest Ekpeyong

Prof ND Briggs was insightful and brilliant, a lot to buttress this are in public space .I could write at length on this but would  like to leave it  for the new generation of academics in our midst to expound.

Prof,  you were  too good at celebrating accomplishment and the good in others. We saw this when Kesley Harrison won a coveted prize on global stage for his works in 0&G. A man of charisma and oratory prowess .You  were  always  at your elements as the preferred  guest lecturer ,whenever  founders of your  alma mata, College of Medicine University of Lagos (CMUL)were being celebrated or  remembered .I was humbled when you too  referred to my exploit at the Silver jubilee National Essay during our reception at Hotel Presidential where Lawson came as a guest speaker.

This tribute is to celebrate your  emotional quotient and appreciate how you masterfully struck a balance to live for others.
You knew everybody  in the class by name  and took personal interest in their progress.
During this 81st post humours birthday anniversary, we celebrate a great teacher who  was in the profession not for the money but out of passion to make a mark.
You went full circle in your career and made significant impact  as  University Don, Administrator and Arbitrator, which Ade alluded to earlier.

We miss you dearly.
The writer John Green was right when he said, the world may not fully recover from the loss of a truly good soul.

Your memory is blessed, sir
Rest on Prof
